Ed Pearce is the Deputy Director of the Division of Administrative Services. He started with the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) in July 2022. Prior to that he worked with the Department of Administration for seven and half years as Deputy Director of the S.C. Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) Oct 2014 through July 2022. Prior to working with the Department of Administration, Pearce worked at DJJ as the Chief Financial Officer for four and a half years. He also worked in the Commercial Banking Industry for over 15 years, with his final role serving as Vice President/Market Executive with First Community Bank.
Pearce served 24 years in the SC Air National Guard retiring as a Major; serving 13 years as the Director of Human Relations in the 169th Fighter Wing and for six years, he served as enlisted as a SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) Instructor with five years in the Combat Communications Squadron. He graduated from Clemson University with a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Division of Administrative Services
The Division of Administrative Services is responsible for a multitude of areas, to include the Office of Fiscal Affairs (fiscal operations, procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and accounting), Office of Maintenance Services (maintenance/work orders), small and medium maintenance projects, horticulture management, fleet services, custodial services, fire and life safety, and recycling. The Office of Support Services (excess property, moves, recycling, warehouse delivery, postal and inventory), the Office of Information Technology (helpdesk, network services, application planning and support, and desktop support), the Office of Information Security & Privacy (cybersecurity of information systems, infrastructure and application security planning, cybersecurity training, and agency oversight of personal information, assessments, and privacy training), and the Office of Project Management (capital project management, agency project coordination, and special projects oversight) also fall under Administrative Services.
